It is with great sadness that the death of Aubrey Edwards is announced; he passed away at 4.45pm on Tuesday 29th January 2013 following a long illness. He was 76 years old.

Present at the Annual General Meeting of the International Table Tennis Federation in 2009 in Yokohama, Aubrey Edwards served as a member of the ITTF Board of Directors, in addition to being the President and Chairman of the Caribbean Table Tennis Association and also of the Trinidad and Tobago Table Tennis Association.

A prison officer by profession, Aubrey Edwards held the post of Chief Pris** Welfare Officer and the Manager of St Michael's School for Boys.

Additionally, he was founder of the Woodbrook Gladiators Table Tennis Club.

Condolences

"Members of the Caribbean Regional Table Tennis Federation offer their sincere condolences to the families and friends of our former president, Mr. Aubrey Edwards , said Juan Vila, the Deputy President of the Latin American Table Tennis Union. ur thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. 

Paralympic Volunteer

Verna, his wife, is a former Caribbean Champi**hips Women's Singles silver medallist, and daughter Aleena, a regular member of the Trinidad and Tobago Team, has won the National Women Singles title on nine occasi**. 

Furthermore, she was one of the volunteers working in the ExCeL Exhibition Centre for the table tennis events at the London 2012 Parlympic Games.

Funeral

The funeral takes place on Monday 4th February at the Trinity Cathedral in Port of Spain at 9.00 a.m. 

Aubrey Edwards will be buried at Western Cemetery, in St James.

2013年1月29日下午奥布里·爱德华兹病逝，享年76岁。

奥布里·爱德华兹2009年担任国际乒乓球联合会，国际乒联董事会成员，他也是圣迈克尔男校的校长，同时也是Woodbrook Gladiators 乒乓球俱乐部的创始人。

加勒比区域乒乓球联合会的成员致慰问电，拉丁美洲乒乓球联盟副总统胡安·维拉说，对奥布里·爱德华兹先生的家人和朋友，在这个困难时期，我们的思念和祈祷与你们同在。

他的妻子Verna是加勒比地区女子单打锦标赛前银牌得主，他的女儿Aleena是特里尼达和多巴哥队的成员，先后荣获全国女子单打冠军九次。此外她还是2012年伦敦残奥会的乒乓球赛事的志愿者。

奥布里·爱德华兹的葬礼将于2月4日上午9时在西班牙港Trinity Cathedral大教堂举行，将被安葬在西方公墓，圣雅各福群。
